Why do you like to work in tourism?
My love for travel stemmed from growing up with a traveling environment that I have seen from my childhood and made my childhood ambition to visit several continents when I grew up. During my young age, I realized that the world was vast, but at their hearts, people are the same. Most of us all just want to be connected. With each other and the earth. My travel inspiration has always been to explore countries and experience cultures different from my own, as I believe that immersing oneself in these experiences is the best way of enriching their own life. Having a strong passion for traveling, I was able to join a Sri Lankan inbound travel venture and embark on a new journey as a Tourism Consultant in 2014. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of organizing and facilitating the travel needs of many clients from all around the world who wished to experience and indulge themselves in everything Sri Lanka has to offer.
What is your favorite place in Sri Lanka? Why?
I love nature and the white sandy beaches towards the north & south. The most admirable place I love to visit is Sigiriya which is still magnificent and still hard to belive of water is still retained in the pond all throughout the year on top of the Sigiriya Rock and the most relaxing view I would really like is the stretch from Ella to Haputale until Lipton seat is where you could get the most stunning and amazing views of the green tea lushes in between the mountain views.

Why do you like to work in tourism?
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by different people, culture and scent. The first time I traveled out of Europe was at 10 years old to the beautiful country of Mexico. That trip shaped my interest in history and culture and of course my passion to travel. My academic path also shows my interest in tourism as I am holding a master’s degree in ethnology and the second degree in tourism management. At the age of 11 I traveled to Sri Lanka for the first time and years later I moved to the southwest coast because I could not get enough of this colorful place. Sri Lanka is an incredibly beautiful and diverse country and worth more than only one trip.
What is your favorite place in Sri Lanka? Why?
In my opinion Galle is the perfect place to eat and shop. Next to all the great restaurants there is the picturesque old town with its small boutiques and galleries. At the national park Gal Oya there are a lot of elephants and on a lucky day one can watch them swim in the lake. The breathtaking mountain range landscapes around Ella, from Haputale down to Koslanda offer some peace and quiet and a fresh climate.

Why do you like to work in tourism?
Ever since I can remember, I have loved to travel. It is, in spite of all the technological advancements in the preceding decade, an activity that has enthralled mankind – to visit new places, create memories, and understand how our globe has evolved through history. Therefore, I am quite content and overjoyed to be achieving those childhood dreams on a daily basis, throughout the past 30 years of my career in this dynamic industry. Ultimately, this industry has given me the opportunity to meet many of varying backgrounds, beliefs, and ideas, and I believe this field has proved time and time again, to be a force for good and positive change, as it meshes together a perennial characteristic of human nature – to travel and explore.
What is your favorite place in Sri Lanka? Why?
Sigiriya – Of all the countless natural wonders that dot the island, Sigiriya holds a special place in my heart. The ‘Lion Rock’ that stands out dramatically over dense forests in north-central Sri Lanka, is a sight to behold. Its many rock arts, ruins, and frescoes, as well as irrigation systems that are still befuddling engineers the world over in terms of their functionality ever since they were built by King Kashyapa I in the 5th century A.D., are testament to the resourcefulness of our ancient dynasties.
