Day 1
WELCOME TO THE TEAR DROP ISLAND!!!!
Ayubowan! Have an amazing and tremendous get-away! With a striking welcome, we welcome you to the well-known tear drop island. After landing at Katunayake International Airport and welcomed by our chauffer guide he will drive you to explore the historical and cultural triangle, enroute visit the Dambulla cave Temple which is also known as the Golden cave Temple , is a World Heritage Site , situated in the central part of Sri Lanka. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area
Day 2
HIKE THE SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS & MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, Pack up your bags and head off to excurse the City of Dambulla. Grab your cameras and fasten your shoelaces to climb off the Lion Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Kasyapa. The king who committed patricide and made the boulder his palace and a military fort. The word Sigiriya or the Sinhagiri means the Lion’s Rock where you have to climb up 1200 steps before you reach the Lion Rock Fortress on top of Sigiriya. It will take 1.5 – 3 hours to climb up the rock and to get back down but that sounds harder than it is. There are several platforms that break up the steps and allow for a little break if you need it. Today Sigiriya rock fortress is one of the most famous Archeological Treasure and UNESCO named Sigiriya rock as a World Heritage in 1982 under the name “Ancient City of Sigiriya Sri Lanka”. In the evening, visit the Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari to see the herds of elephant flock together. This national park is located in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. Clean forest encompasses the ponds and contains many animals, but activity watching is usually inadequate – except for the amazing periodic members of monsters (Elephant). The ‘gathering’ occurs in Minneriya during the month of September and October when more than 300 monsters come together on the bed of Minneriya
Day 3
VISIT THE TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH & KANDYAN DANCE
After a hearty breakfast , head off to the city of Kandy, enroute visit the nalanda gedige temple and thereafter head up to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic which houses Lord Buddha’s Tooth which is originally apart of the Royal Palace complex of the Kandyan Kingdom, it is one of the holiest places of worship and pilgrimage for Buddhists around the World. The Temple of the Tooth Relic, the palace complex and the holy city of Kandy are associated with the history of the dissemination of Buddhism. Get a chance to shop around gem shops, batik factory and view the wood carvings. In the evening have a chance to view the Kandyan cultural dance show. Check in at the hotel for an overnight stay
Day 4
VISIT BOTANICAL GARDEN & TEA PLANTATION
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, Pack up your bags and head off to Nuwareliya, viewing the luxury green tea bushes via the snake roads entangling between the tea plantation, enroute visit the Peradeniya Botanical gardens which hold 4000 species of plants and visit the ramboda falls, tea plantation and tea factory visit enjoying a freshly brewed cup of Tea. In the evening, enjoy a city tour of Nuwareliya to excurse the dutch built post office , Gregory lake, golf club, Victoria park garden etc. Check in at the hotel and spend the day at leisure.
Day 5
ENJOY THE SCENIC TRIAN RIDE & HIKE LITTLE ADAMS PEAK
Leaving behind the Tea Bushes you will start your train adventure from nanuoya station towards Ella to view the stunning greeneries surrounded by the tea plantations. Enjoy the stunning views as the train track snakes along the edge of the mountains overlooking huge valleys of rolling tea plantations and small villages, dense forests and cascading waterfalls. In the evening visit the Little Adam’s Peak which provides a sweeping panoramic view and nine arch bridge of Ella which is one of the most waited scenic place of visit. Day 6
ITS SAFARI TIME AT YALA!
Today your journey will proceed towards Yala for an adventure safari, enroute visit the Ravana waterfalls, Budurangala tample and take part in the evening Yala Safari. Which is the second largest, yet most famous national park in Srilanka famous for its high concentration of leopards in the world. In its essence, the park consists of shrub jungle with rock outcrops along with several fresh water and salt water lagoons. Some of the most prominent sightings in Yala are of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, sambar, spotted deer, jackals, wild boar and buffaloes, langur and macaque monkeys. Yala is also famous for its bird life. There are around 130 species of birds that have been spotted at the premises including black necked stork, sandpipers, pelicans, egrets, hoopoes, parakeets and bulbuls. One could spot peacocks as soon as they enter the park unlike the evasive jungle fowl, the national bird of Sri Lanka. Check in at the hotel and spend the day at leisure followed by Dinner
Day 7
VISIT THE COCONUT TREE HILL & HUMMANYA BLOW HOLE
After a hearty breakfast, head off to the most awaited sun kissed, stunning crescent beach of Mirissa. Enroute visit the Hummanaya Blowhole situated in the Hiriketiya beach which is well known as the best surfing spot and Hummanaya Blow whole which is the only known blowhole in Sri Lanka also considered to be the second-largest blowhole in the world and head off to visit the Coconut Tree Hills of Mirissa. The Coconut Tree Hill is a private coconut estate with a nearby temple set on a high cliff overlooking the glistening waters of the Indian Ocean and the untouched stretch of golden beach. Day 8
DISCOVER THE WHALES , TURTLES & VISIT THE DUTCH FORT OF GALLE
Wake up early in the morning and with packed breakfast proceed to Mirissa to take part in a private whale watching tour at 6.30 am which is one of the most exciting water activities you can do during your holiday in Sri Lanka. Often spotted blue whales are the biggest animals in the world and Mirissa is the best place for whale and dolphin watching. After the whale watching session, head of your way to the historical dutch fort of Galle and proceed to Colombo, en route excurse Stilt fishing by stilt fisherman which is known as one of the traditional arts of fishing and also capture the sea turtle farm at Koggala. GOOD BYE TO THE PEARL OF THE INDIAN OCEAN!
